Swans lens information

Swans since 1911 the specialist in Japan in the field of eye protection in the broadest sense of the word. Below is the information regarding the various lenses for goggles.

Single lens with anti-fog coating:

Anti-Fog is a thin layer that is coated on the lens, this layer avoid fog on the lens.

Double lens is a lens that has 2 layers, these two lenses are vulcanized to each other. The advantage of a double lens is, that the air between the two lenses acts as insulation.  In addition, the lens is treated with an anti-fog coating.

APA system, (Anti Pressure Adjustment system) is against distortion of the lens, this is the small valve in the corner of the double lens.

Heat lens system:

The lens produces heat within itself and prevents fogging. The transparent electric element built in the lens clears fogging or frost by the power of a chatgeable lthiumpion battery. It supports safe skiing by providing a clear view even under severe circumstances.

UV "Cut":

Harmful ultraviolet rays can cause damaging eye disease such as cataract, as well as causing ski cancer. All the lenses of Swans goggles can block this harmful ultraviolet rays and promise comfort and safe visibility.

Polarized lenses:

Swans is the world first goggle maker that offered polarized lens ski goggles and marketed all over the world for more then 10 years. Polarized lens shut out the blue light which creates an unclear vision. Light waves traveling freely can vibrate in any direction. When light strikes a horizontal surface such as snow or water, it vibrates horizontally, creating glare. This is designed to block the reflected glare from the snow surface. The end resultm is an enhanced visual sharpness and reduced eye fatigue. To facilitate this clear vision upon different weathers, we have different polarized lens colors.

Claritex Coating:

Claritex is a special coating which provides “water repellency”and “stain”resistance on the lens surface. Claritex has suberp water repellency which can resist any water-drops on the lens and it maintains clear visibility even in wet weather conditions. Claritex also resists any stain or smears such as finger-prints ort water-stains. Even in case that it stained, you can remove those stains easely and is also ant-scratch.

Anti-fog lens:

Anti-fog lens eliminates fogging very efficiently with its anti-fog coating on the inner side of the lens. With the combination of a ventilating feature ( ventilating mesh) on the frame, it provides a much clearer vision.

Important is, that the lens must have the same temperature as the face or vice versa.

General maintenance of the lens, as with everything, the lens must also be treated with care. If the lens is wet or moistered, don’t rub intensively, but dep the moisture from the lens. If you rub intensively you grain the anti-fog coating from the surface of the lens, in or out-side the lens. If a mirror coating is rubbed away, then this is irreparable. After intensive use, the anti-fog reduces, Swans has as option anti-fog spray and water-repellent spray in the collection. For cleaning, the best is use a soft flannel fabric.
